Sign me up,
I'm the only one that can do it.
I think twice as fast.
We built a town from the bottom up,
But you tore it down, all the while singing;
"Let's leave our city behind".
You negate yourself when you demand
that life would press rewind.
You always told us to sell out:
I always wanted to prove you wrong.
Stare off into the sunset,
Let go of all of your bitterness.
I wouldn't change a thing
About the way it all worked out.
We left the "in-crowd"
for something more worthwhile,
but you could only drag me back
Over my dead body.
I'm a walking dictionary
Of genre-bending cliches.
You're a negative apothecary,
What with the false hope you're selling.
I don't want to die for your mistakes.
Somehow I always knew
It would end up this way.
We will own your thoughts,
We'll own the song stuck in your head,
We'll leave you kicking and screaming
So you can thank us in the end.
Feelings left lingering
In the back of our heads.
Words that were better left unsaid.
Thoughts that could lead us
Marching to our death.
All over lies
That we've been fed.
